A Sheridan School District bus carrying middle school students was pulled over on Highway 167 in Saline County Wednesday morning after a student on board called 911 to report the driver was swerving, repeatedly opening the bus door, and appeared unwell, according to dispatch records obtained by The Fire.
The call came in at 7:18 a.m. from a ninth-grade student riding the bus, identified in dispatch notes only as Bus 52 on the way to Sheridan Middle School.
The student reported the bus was "going the wrong way" on Highway 167 near River Valley Drive, had pulled into the grass, and that the driver "looks impaired" and was opening the door "for no one," according to the records.
