Clean Cloud Energy popped onto Grant County residents' radars last summer.
The Texas-based company "works closely with end users of data centers, utilities and regulators to co-locate utility scale energy projects with data centers," according to its website.
County officials have discussed a proposed data center in Grant County very near Sheridan city limits for more than a year. Many citizens are protesting against a data center in their community.
In recent Quorum Court meetings, Clean Cloud has not come up in discussions.
Is Clean Cloud still looking at Grant County? Documents obtained under the Freedom of Information Act show that, yes, Clean Cloud is still communicating with county officials including emails dated April 8 and May 1 obtained under the Freedom of Information Act.
