Grant County Sheriff's Office deputies made at least eight arrests during the first two weeks of September.

Nearly all of them originated from routine traffic stops in which deputies discovered outstanding warrants or suspended driver's licenses, according to incident reports obtained by The Fire. All suspects named in this report are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

●       Sept. 1: Deputies stopped a pickup truck for speeding in the area of Grant County Road 58. The driver, identified as Brooks Anthony Martin, was found to have an active Grant County warrant and was booked into the Sheridan Detention Center.

●       Sept. 2: A deputy assisting Sheridan police on a traffic stop near South Rock Street and Fizer Drive arrested Hunter Osburn on a charge of DWI, second offense, after field sobriety testing and a breath sample that returned a 0.11 blood-alcohol reading. Osburn was also cited for expired tags.

●       Sept. 2: A deputy stopped a vehicle in the area of Highway 229 South for a headlight violation and expired tags. The driver, Skylar Phillips, was arrested on a charge of driving on a suspended license after dispatch confirmed an outstanding Jefferson County warrant. Phillips was cited for expired tags and defective equipment.

●       Sept. 3: A deputy on patrol in the 6000 block of Highway 167 South, near Eagle Recycling, arrested Reedy Chambers on a charge of driving on a suspended license. Chambers also had outstanding warrants out of Grant and Dallas counties, according to the report.

●       Sept. 6: A deputy checking the entrance to Cox Creek Lake before dawn identified a parked vehicle registered to Jamaari Hasan, who had an active warrant out of Malvern and a suspended license. Hasan was arrested when he later drove out of the area and was cited for no liability insurance.

●       Sept. 11: A deputy conducted a felony traffic stop on Highway 270 West after identifying the driver, Rodney Crenshaw, as the subject of an active felony warrant out of Pope County. Crenshaw was taken into custody without incident, cited for immoderate driving and careless and prohibited driving, and held for pickup by Pope County authorities.

●       Sept. 12: A deputy patrolling the 4000 block of Highway 270 East stopped a pickup truck and arrested the driver, Blake Powell, on a charge of driving on a suspended license. Powell had outstanding warrants out of Jefferson County and Haskell.

●       Sept. 13: A deputy patrolling Highway 35 near Grant County Road 51 stopped a vehicle for crossing the center line and arrested the driver, Charles Goodwin, on a charge of driving on a suspended license.
